RANGER PIPE (BRIAR BOWL)
This pipe has a long stem with a slight curve, which makes it perfect for the adventurous type of person. It will make the adventurer want to go on a long hike, find a tree to sit against, and enjoy the peace and quiet of a nice long smoke. Add personal flare to this pipe by choosing your own wood species for the stem. The Ranger Pipe's dimensions are approximately 12 inches from the tip of the stem to the end of the bowl. The stem and bowl are connected by a dowel-pinned piece of delrin, which is a plastic commonly used in pipe making. This ensures a snug fit from the bowl to the stem that is easily removable for cleaning. Each pipe that Paul makes is hand crafted and finished in homemade shellac. Therefore, they will not look exactly like anything else pictured on this website. Your pipe will be as unique as you are. (pictured with a cherry main body stem with a walnut middle strip)
A note on briar: Briar comes from Heath trees that grow in the Mediterranean. It is harvested, cut into chunks, sometimes boiled to extract the wood's resin, and dried. The result is a wood that is stunningly figured and beautiful. In addition to its beauty, it offers excellent heat resistance and does not impart any extra flavor onto your choice of tobacco. This is why it is the wood of choice for pipe making. There are two main types of briar, ebauchon and plateaux. Plateaux is what Paul uses to make his briar pipes. This is because its grain is more figured. This is why there is a considerable price disparity between Paul's cherry pipes and briar pipes. Briar is more complicated to work with and it is much more expensive than cherry. However, don't discount cherry. Paul loves his cherry bowl pipes. They are wonderful in their own right!
Shipping and Returns
Items will ship immediately when the order is completed. Paul will be working diligently to make sure that you get your heirloom quality piece ASAP!
Pipes must be signed for by someone over the age of 21.
All sales are final. However, do not be afraid. Paul would not send it to you if it was not of the highest quality.
If your items are lost/damaged, contact First Age Woodworking immediately! We want you to be 100% satisfied with your order. Be prepared to supply us with pictures of the damaged item and its packaging. We will do our best to take care of you.
